a Presbyterian minister, was born in Bedford County, Va., Jan. 1,1788; was educated in Hampden Sidney College, Va.; studied theology in the Union Seminary, Prince Edward, Va.; was licensed by Hanover Presbytery and ordained by the same in 1813. He began his labors as a missionary in Richmond, Va.; he subsequently preached at Fayetteville, N. C.; Manchester, Va.; and in Hanover County, Va. He died March 13, 1863.
