Sphaltes
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
the feller, was a surname of Bacchus in Grecian mythology, conferred because he brought down Telephus in battle by causing him to stumble over a vine (Pindar, Isthm. 8, 109, etc.).
