Solomons Porch

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a name given in Scripture to two very different structures in Jerusalem:

(a) The "porch of judgment" attached to the palace (1 Kings 7:7), for which (See PALACE); and

(b) "Solomon's Porch," or portico (στοὰ Σολομῶνος ), the outer eastern corridor of the Temple (John 10:23; Acts 3:11; Acts 5:12), for which (See TEMPLE).
