Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(Heb. Shaalabbin', שִׁעֲלִבַּין; but many MSS. Shaalabbim', שִׁעֲלִבַּים, city of foxes; Sept. Σαλαβίν v.r. Σαλαμείν; Vulg. Selebin). a town in the tribe of Dan (Joshua 19:42, where it is named between Ir-shemesh and Ajalon); probably the same elsewhere (Judges 1:35; 1 Kings 4:9) called SHAALBIM (See SHAALBIM) (q.v.).
