(Heb. Pethuel', פְּתוּאֵל , stamp or engraving of God; but according to others, i.q. מַתוּאֵל, Methuel', i.e., folk of God; Sept. Βαθουήλ), the father of the prophet Joel (Joel 1:1). B.C. ante 800.
