an Italian Carmelite, and professor of theology at Padua in the 16th century, was one of the most powerful and learned supporters of papacy in his time. After having published a dogmatical treatise of small importance, Disputationes Theologicae ad D. Thomam et de Conscientia, he made himself conspicuous and popular among the clergy by publishing Brevis de Summo Pontifice Tractatus, etc. (2d ed. Rome, 1668).
