1. Hebrew YIMNA' ( םיַמְנָע restrainer; Sept. Ι᾿μανά, Vulg. Jemnna, Auth. Vers. "Irmna"), one of the sons apparently of Helem, the brother of Shamer, a descendant of Asher, but at what distance is not clear (1 Chronicles 7:35). B.C. prob. cir. 1618. (See HOTHAM).
2. Hebrew YIMNAH' יַמְנָה , fortunate; Sept. in Genesis 46:17, Ι᾿εμνά, Vulg. Jemna, Auth. Vers. "Jimnah;" in Numbers 26:44, Ι᾿αμίν and Ι᾿αμινί, Jemnsa and Jemnaitce, "Jimna" and "Jimnites;" in 1 Chronicles 7:30, Ι᾿εμνά, Jemna, "Imnah"), the first-named of the sons of Asher, and founder of a family who bore his name. B. C. 1874. 3. (Same Hebrew name as last; Sept. Ι᾿εμνά, Vulg. Jemnta, Auth.Vers. "Imnah'). The father of Kore, which latter was the Levite in charge of the east gate of the Temple, and appointed by Hezekiah over the free-will offerings (2 Chronicles 31:14). B. C. 726.
