an anonymous writer of the chronicles of St. Hubert's monastery, flourished about the middle of the 11th century. In his Chronicles St. Hub. Andaginensis the style of Sallust is imitated. C.) and Wattenbach (W.) issued a new edition of it in Pertz, Script. 8, 565-630, and the following opinion of the author is expressed by them: "Satis habeamus nosse, auctorem operis fuisse virum inter medias res versatum, acrem judicio, veritatis studiosum: hoc enim totum ejus dicendi genus, hoc simplex et sincera rerum narratio suadent."
