Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

( ῾Ησαϊ v ας,Vulg. Is'aia, Isaias), the form in which the name of the prophet ISAIAH (See ISAIAH) (q.v.) constantly appears in the A.V. of the Apocrypha (Sirach 48:20; Sirach 48:22; 2 Esdras 2:18). (See ESAIAS).
