Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Liverpool, England, March 5, 1799. He was converted at the age of nine; became a local preacher nine years later; emigrated to New York city in 1827, where for years he did valiant work as a city missionary; and in 1836 entered the New York Conference, wherein he labored until his death, July 2, 1876.
