Cortesi (or Cortezi), Paolo

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

an Italian theologian, was born at San Geminiano, Tuscany, in 1465. He entered orders, and applied himself to the study of Latin literature. He was apostolic secretary under Alexander VI and Pius III, prothonotary, and finally bishop of Urbino. He died in 1510, leaving, De Hominibus Doctis Dialogus (published by Alexander Politi, more than two centuries after the death of Cortesi; Florence, 1734): In Quatuor Libros Sententiarum P.
