Communion, Clerical
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a term employed by the early Christian writers in opposition to lay communion (q.v.), to denote the full exercise of all the duties of the clerical office. It is also called ecclesiastical communion.
