Cole, George Washington

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Protestant Episcopal minister, was born at Saco, Maine, January 5, 1805, and graduated from Bowdoin College in 1830. After teaching in Germantown, Pennsylvania, for a year, he pursued a course of theological study in the General Theological Seminary of New York. For two years thereafter he was a professor in Bristol College, Pennsylvania; was next rector of a parish in Westchester for a year; of a parish in Tecumseh, Michigan, four years; and had entered upon his ministerial duties in Kalamazoo when he died, in 1840.
