Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Κιτιέοι v. r. Κιτιαῖοι , Vulg. Cetei, A. V. "Citims"), a nation whose king Perseus is mentioned (1 Maccabees 8:5) as having been defeated by the Romans; evidently the CHITTIM (See CHITTIM) (q.v.), or Macedonians.
