Cirey, Jean de

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a French Cistercian of Dijon, flourished in the 15th century. In 1476 he became abbot of the monastery Balern, in Burgundy; attended in 1477 the synod held at Orleans, and in 1478 that held at Tours. He died December 27, 1503, leaving Capitulum Generale Cisterciense (Dijon, 1490): Privilegia Ordinis Cistercii (ibid. 1491, 1630); and some other works.
