Chalmer, George (2), A.M.

a Scotch clergyman, took his degree at Edinburgh University in 1592; was appointed to the living at Barra, but the parishioners would not receive him; nevertheless he continued there in August, 1594. He was pursued by Will Hay, a rebel, who would have slain him with a pistol, but by his rapid flight he secured safety within the gates of Haddington. There is no further record of him.
