Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Καθουά ), one of the family heads of the "servants of the Temple" (Nethinim) that returned from Babylon (1 Esdras 5:30); apparently the GIDDEL (See GIDDEL) (q.v.) of the Hebrews texts (Ezra 2:47; Nehemiah 7:49).
