Carpenter, Richard (1)

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

an English divine, was, a native of Cornwall, and was educated at Exeter College, Oxford, of which he became a fellow in 1596. In 1611 he was admitted to orders; and about that time was made rector of Sherwell, and of Loxhore, adjoining, in Devonshire; and afterwards obtained the benefice of Ham, near Sherwell.
