an English Congregational minister, was born in London, Dec. 26, 1785, of pious parents. He became an orphan early in life; received his education at Hackney College; and first settled in the ministry at Cannock, Staffordshire. He afterwards preached eighteen years at Oulton, Norfolk; fourteen years at Wycliffe; a short time at the church in Oxford Street, Cambridge road; and in 1860 retired from public life.
