Beaulieu, Sinmon de

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a French prelate, was a native of Beaulieu in Champaign. He was at first archdeacon of Chartres and Poitiers, then canon of Bourges and of St. Martin of Tours, and was elected archbishop of Bonrges. Boniface VIII. appointed him cardinal, and made him his legate to France and England. He held a synod, of which he has written the Actes. He died at Orvieto, Aug. 18, 1297.
