Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a French clergyman, was born in Vienne, Nov. 8,1706. He was canon of the Church in his native place, and spent his life in literary researches, as the result of which he published several important works (1749-56). He died at Vienne, May 6, 1778.
