Antiphonon
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(ἀντίφωνον ) is,
1. The alternate chant of the two sides of a choir;
2. A verse or versicle used as a key-note to a psalm or canticle;
3. An anthem sung during the Liturgy in the Eastern Church.
