Tirshata
Kitto's Popular Cyclopedia of Biblical Literature
Tir´shata, a title borne by Zerubbabel and Nehemiah as Persian governors of Judea (;;;; ). It seems to come from the Persic torsh, 'severe,' and, in that case, would be equivalent to 'your severity:' comp. 'dread sovereign.'
