rḗ - pâr ´ ( מחסה , maḥṣeh , "refuge"): In Joel 3:16 , for the King James Version The Lord will be the hope of his people" the King James Version margin renders "place of repair," or, "harbour" = haven of repair. the Revised Version (British and American) gives "refuge." Other words are חזק , ḥāzaḳ , "to strengthen," "harden," "fix" (2 Kings 12:5 and often; Neh 3); רפא , rāphā' "to heal" (1 Kings 18:30 ); עמד , ‛āmadh , "to cause to stand still" (Ezra 9:9 ); חיה , ḥāyāh , "to revive" (1 Chronicles 11:8 ); סגר , ṣāghar , "to close up" (1 Kings 11:27 ).

In the Revised Version (British and American) Apocrypha for ὑπορράπτω , huporráptō , "to patch up" ( Sirach 50:1 ); ἐπισκευάζω , episkeuázō , "to get ready" ( 1 Maccabees 12:37 ). In 1 Maccabees 14:34 occurs "reparation" (modern English "repairs") for ἐπανόρθωσις , epanórthōsis , "straightening up."
