Webster's Dictionary

  (n.) A thin, narrow strip or bar of wood or metal; as, the slats of a window blind.
 (2):
  (v. t.) To slap; to strike; to beat; to throw down violently.
 (3):
  (v. t.) To split; to crack.
 (4):
