(n.) The theory which holds natural selection, as explained by Darwin, to be the chief factor in the evolution of plants and animals, and denies the inheritance of acquired characters; - esp. opposed to Neo-Lamarckism. Weismannism is an example of extreme Neo-Darwinism.
