Vine's Expository Dictionary of NT Words

(Strong's #1173 — Noun Neuter — deipnon — dipe'-non )

denotes "a supper" or "feast" (for an analysis of the uses see FEAST , NO. 2). In John 13:2 the RV, following certain texts, has "during supper" (AV, "supper being ended").
