Quebec, Canada. Founded as a seminary in 1663, it was granted a Royal Charter in 1852. Conducted by the hierarchy of the Province of Quebec under the presidency of the Archbishop of Quebec. Faculties of theology, law, medicine, and art. Schools of surveying and forestry, agriculture, chemistry, pharmacy, nursing, and music. The University of Montreal began as one of its branches.
