Sisters of the Institute of Charity (Rosminians)
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Organized by Abbe Lowenbruck at Portieux, France in 1831 under the authorization of Venerable Antonio Rosmini, founder of the Institute of Charity, whose work they supplement. A house for novices and a training school for sisters was established at Domodossola, Italy. Founded as a contemplative order, the sisters also undertake teaching and various charitable works. The congregation has houses, including schools, in Italy, England, and Wales.
