Promulgation
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
(Latin: promulgare, to publish)
The act of making known laws with the effect of obliging their observance from the date expressed. Laws enacted by the Apostolic See are promulgated by publication in the official Acta Apostolicae Sedis and bind three months after the date affixed to the Acta.
