Procurator

1910 New Catholic Dictionary

An agent who manages the affairs of another by virtue of his authority. According to Church law a procurator may be employed in juridical matters, attending councils, marriage, and the like. What the procurator does legally within the limits of his mandate must be regarded as done by the principal.
