1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Sulpician missionary, born Bourg, France, 1708; died Verjon, 1781. For 25 years he labored among the Indians in Canada, learning the Algonquin and Iroquois tongues and founding Indian posts, one of which, the Fort of the Presentation, became the town of Ogdensburg, New York.
