1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Confessor of Louis XIV, born Aix, 1624; died Paris, France, 1709. Rector of the Jesuit College at Lyons, and later provincial, his influence led to the king's dismissal of Mme de Montespan, and his marriage with Mme de Maintenon. The tract of land given him in Paris is now the famous Pere La Chaise cemetery.
