James Nugent
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Priest and philanthropist; born Liverpool, England, 1822; died Formby, England, 1905. He was a social reformer in Lancashire, devoting his life to the welfare of prisoners, homeless boys, and fallen women. He founded the "Northern Press," now represented by the English "Catholic Times."
