1910 New Catholic Dictionary
(1611-1687) Astronomer. Founded lunar topography, did valuable work on sun-spots, first suggested that the orbits of comets were parabolic, discovered four comets, made the discovery of the libration of the moon in longitude, and compiled a catalog of 1564 stars.
