Domrémy-La-Pucelle
1910 New Catholic Dictionary
Village, department of Vosges, France, on the Meuse River. It is the birth-place of Saint Joan of Arc, containing several statues of her and the house where she was born. In her honor the village was freed from all taxation by Charles VII and enjoyed this privilege until the Revolution. Nearby is Notre Dame de Bermont, the sanctuary at which Joan of Arc prayed.
