Congruism

1910 New Catholic Dictionary

(Latin: congruus, suitable)

Essentially the same as Molinism. It differs from Molinism accidentally in the emphasis it places upon the congruousness of efficacious grace (its being adapted to the nature and circumstances of the recipient); hence the name. Originated by Molina, it was more fully developed by Bellarmine, Suarez, Vasquez, and Lessius.
