1910 New Catholic Dictionary

(1546-1601). Astronomer. Initiated precision in astronomical observations, discovered (1572) a nova of Cassiopeia, compiled a catalog of 777 fixed stars, drew up a plan of the cosmos known as the Tychonic plan, drafted a chart of refraction, made numerous corrections on astronomical observations, and rediscovered lunar variation.
