Zophar
Holman Bible Dictionary
(zoh' fahr) Personal name of uncertain meaning. One of Job's three friends who came to sit with him in his misery (1 Chronicles 2:11 ). Zophar probably was the youngest of the three since he is mentioned last. He was the sharpest critic of the three men and was more philosophical in his criticism of Job. His words were more coarse and his dogmatism more emphatic. Although there was a place called Naamah in Judah (Joshua 15:41 ), doubt remains that it was Zophar's home. The exact location is unknown.
