Swaddling Clothes
Holman Bible Dictionary
A long piece of linen used in ancient times to wrap babies and broken limbs. The cloth was wrapped tightly around the body to prohibit movement. Mary wrapped Jesus in swaddling clothes just after His birth (Luke 2:7 ).
