Suphah
Holman Bible Dictionary
(suf' uh) Apparently a place name perhaps meaning, “toward the reeds.” The Hebrew text of Numbers 21:14 has no verb and has been translated and emended in many ways to achieve one. Compare translations. KJV created, “Yam-Suph,” or “Red Sea.” Others find a compound place name, “Waheb in Suphah,” indicating two locations in Moab.
