Stork
Holman Bible Dictionary
One of a number of large, long-legged birds that usually wade for their food. They eat fish and an assortment of animals that live around water. They are known for the care they take of their young and for returning each year to the same nesting area. The stork migrates from Africa in the winter to Europe in the spring. It stops in Palestine during its migration. It was ceremonially unclean (Leviticus 11:19 ). It is related to the heron. See Birds .
