Sophereth
Holman Bible Dictionary
(ssohf' uh reth) Personal name meaning “learning.” One of Solomon's servants whose descendants returned to Jerusalem with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:55; Nehemiah 7:57 ). Modern translations translate it “Hassophereth” in Ezra 2:55 and “Sophereth” in Nehemiah 7:57 (NAS, NIV, NRSV).
