Nibhaz
Holman Bible Dictionary
(nihb' haz) Deity worshiped by the residents of Avva whom the Assyrians used to resettle the area about Samaria after the fall of that city in 722 B.C. (2 Kings 17:31 ). The deity is otherwise unknown. The name is perhaps a deliberate corruption of the term for altar (Mizbeah ) which had possibly become an object of worship.
