Holman Bible Dictionary
(mihss' ih uh) Northwest region of Asia Minor (Acts 16:7 ). The New Testament mentions several cities in this region: Adramyttium (Acts 27:2 ); Assos (Acts 20:13-14 ); Pergamum (Revelation 1:11; Revelation 2:12 ); and Troas (Acts 16:8 ,Acts 16:8,16:11; Acts 20:5-6; 2 Corinthians 2:12; 2 Timothy 4:13 ). Hindered from mission work in Bythinia, Paul passed through Mysia before embarking on his Macedonian mission (Acts 16:6-11 ). Acts 20:1 records Paul's seven-day stay at Troas and an overland (mission) trip to Assos. On another occasion, Paul found in Troas an open door of mission opportunity ( 2 Corinthians 2:12 ).
