Liberality
Holman Bible Dictionary
NAS term for generosity or openhandedness (Romans 12:8; 2 Corinthians 8:2 ). The KJV used simplicity for the text of Romans 12:8 and liberality for 2 Corinthians 8:2 . The precise meaning of the underlying Greek is a matter of interpretation. “Simplicity” can mean wholeheartedly, generously (NIV, NRSV), or openhanded (REB). “Simplicity” can also mean purely, without mixed motives or desire for selfish gain.
