Holman Bible Dictionary
(Leb kaw may) Transliteration of Hebrew meaning “heart of those rising against me” (Jeremiah 51:1 ). Cryptic term Jeremiah used to refer to Babylon as Israel's enemy. Most modern translations retain the Hebrew transliteration. RSV reads, “inhabitants of Chaldea.” KJV translates, “midst of them that rise up against me.” See Babylon; Chaldea; Jeremiah.
