Kitchens
Holman Bible Dictionary
Place of meal preparation, particularly involving cooking. Ezekiel's vision of the Temple included four small courts at the corners of the Court of the Gentiles where the sacrifices that the common people were permitted to eat were boiled (Ezekiel 46:24 ). The KJV has “the place of them that boil.” The sin, guilt, and cereal offerings were cooked in the kitchens within the priests' chambers to protect them from contact with persons who had not been consecrated (Ezekiel 46:19-20 ). There is no mention in the Bible of separate rooms in homes where meals were prepared. See Cooking and Heating .
