Holman Bible Dictionary
(jahk' sshan) Personal name meaning, “trap, snare.” Son of Abraham by Keturah and ancestor of Arabian tribes in wilderness east of Jordan (Genesis 25:2-3 ). He links the Jews and Arabs together as belonging to a common ancestor—Abraham.
