Inflammation
Holman Bible Dictionary
A response to cellular injury characterized by redness, infiltration of white blood cells, heat, and frequently pain. Inflammation was one of the curses upon those disobedient to the covenant (Deuteronomy 28:22; compare Leviticus 13:28 ).
